The Member of Parliament for Sege, Alfred Abayateye, is alleging spiritual attacks on his person ahead of this Saturdays National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary primaries.
The outspoken legislator is facing stiff opposition from four other persons in the constituency. Mr. Abayateye told Citi News due to his work both in Parliament and in the constituency, he will be surprised if he fails to win the partys bid for another term.
He added that although there are spiritual attacks against him, he is optimistic of victory on Saturday.
The Sege MP said: Everything is going on smoothly, there are spiritual attacks here and there but God is seeing us through.
I left the constituency to Accra last week Monday healthy and I came back sick. If you see me youd see what Im talking of. Dont rule those things out. God knows what I have done and the people in the constituency also know what I have done, Hon. Abayateye added.
Meanwhile, all is set for the elections across other holding constituencies in the region. Incumbent Odododiodoo MP, Nii Tackie Commey, has said he is confident of returning to Parliament on the NDCs ticket despite stiff opposition from presidential staffer, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije.
In the East Ayawaso constituency, Naser Mahama Toure, is vowing to oust outgoing Deputy Works and Housing Minister, Dr. Mustapha Ahmed. He told Citi News his mission is to rescue the NDC in the constituency since many members are switching to the opposition NPP.
