Thousands of National Democratic Congress (NDC) supporters, sympathizers and fanatics, thronged the Kotoka International Airport to welcome President John Evans Atta Mills on his return from a nine day medical check-up in the United States.
The ecstatic supporters, who were clad in NDC paraphernalia, were in seventh heaven as they danced to some brass band tunes amidst singing.
Prior to his trip to the U.S of A on June 16th, questions had been asked about the whereabouts of the president after he had not been seen in public for close to two weeks whilst communal violence ravaged parts of the country.
Indeed, rumours were rife on some social networking sites that he had passed away. But President Mills, in an interaction with the media at the airport before his departure, indicated that he was going to see his doctors for a routine check-up then he will come back to continue with the better Ghana agenda.
After a successful routine medical check up in New York, H.E the President of the Republic of Ghana arrived home at about 12:45pm on Monday to a rousing welcome.
