The President of Ghana, John Evans Attah Mills, has written to Parliament to inform legislators of his trip to the Federal Republic of Nigeria later on Tuesday.
The Speaker of Parliament, Justice Joyce Bamford Addo, read the terse letter from the President to Members of Parliament (MPs) shortly before the votes and proceedings of Mondays sitting of the House were corrected.
The letter did not say whether the President is heading to the populous West African State on an official visit or on a private appointment.
This is the first time President Mills is travelling outside the country since his return from a routine medical check-up trip that took him to the United States of America some few weeks ago.
