Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur received a top UK government official in his office in Accra and assured the international community that the government was committed to ensure a peaceful, free and fair Election 2012.
The official, Mr Mark Jonathan Martlock Simmonds, is the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur expressed Ghana�s appreciation to the UK government for financing the training of 16,000 police and other security personnel.
He said the government would use established systems and structures to maintain the nation�s democratic culture and would cooperate with its foreign allies to bring better economic and political stability to the people.
Mr Simmonds praised Ghana's political stability, economic development and growth and said �I want to build on the positive relationship and deepen the ties further.�
