Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Ms Hanna Louisa Bissiw defeated the incumbent NPP MP for Tano South, Mr Andrews Adjei-Yeboah.
Ms Bissiw had 19,236 votes as against the 17,856 obtained by Mr Adjei-Yeboah who had 17,856.
The skirt-and-blouse pattern of voting was also experienced in this constituency as the electorate gave the NPP's Nana Akufo Addo 19,234 votes as against the 17,677 obtained by President in the presidential election.
Benjamin Xornam Glover reports from Upper East that the Member of Parliament for Talensi and Former Information Minister, Mr John Tia Akologo who has been MP for the Talensi constituency since 1992 has lost the seat to Robert Nachinab Doaneng of the NPP.
Fifty-eight-year-old Doaneng obtained 11,380 votes whilst Mr Akologo polled 9119.
