A policy analyst of the PNC, Atik Mohammed, has come out to deny portions of reasons and stated that Bernard Mornahs inability to raise funds to bribe delegates must have informed him to resign when the party goes to elect new executives.
Bernard Mornah who has served for two terms as General Secretary for the PNC, disclosed some weeks ago that he will not be contesting at the partys next Congress because he no more has the energy to be General Secretary of the party.
It is time for others to probably pick up and to showcase what they have...politics is not a lifelong profession so I have decided to step down, he said.
The decision by Bernard Mornah to resign as General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), received mixed reaction when he openly announced and gave reasons which informed him to step down from the position.
PNC Performed Abysmally Under Mornahs Leadership
But in an interview with Okay FM, Atik Mohammed took a different approach to the matter and pointed that though Mornahs decision to step down wasnt news worthy, it was fair for party members to be told the truth behind their General Secretarys resignation.
He noted that the passing away of Hon. David Lamptey, who was the owner of Radio XZY and Sidalco Limited, has affected Bernard Mornahs ability to raise funds to bribe delegates to vote for him, should he decide to contest.
Atik Mohammed also said that the party had performed abysmally under Bernard Mornahs leadership, and if he had decided to step down, he should be urged on to vacate the post.
He further stated that since Bernard Mornah was sworn in 2008, the partys seat in parliament, had been depreciating.
