A member of the communication team for the opposition NPP, Asamoah Gyamfi has stated that anybody who goes contrary to the position of the party on any public issue cannot be accepted to be a faithful member of the party.

According to him the NPP has not benefited in anyway from Dr. Wereko-Brobbey ever since he has been a member of the party; in that Dr. Wereko-Brobbey left the party to form his own party during the 2000 elections but rejoined the NPP when victory was looming.

Speaking on e-TV Ghana, he said that some of the members of the party (NPP) feel that Dr. Wereko-Brobbey should leave the party if he wants to because he has never supported anything the party has stood for; adding that in the 2000 election with a meeting with the Electoral Commission, the former VRA boss supported the NDC against his own party (NPP).

He said that when the NPP came to power in 2000 Dr. Wereko-Brobbey was one of the beneficiaries of the party, because in his estimation he was given a position at one of the most lucrative places, VRA, to work as the boss.

He further said that Dr. Wereko-Brobbey was again made to head the [email protected] celebrations secretariat.

He insisted that the party cannot continue to engage a man whose conduct is contrary to the main agenda of the party; adding that the leaders of the NPP with one accord have decided to challenge the 2012 Presidential results in the Supreme Court and so Dr. Wereko-Brobbeys disapproval of the court proceedings undermines the rank and file of the party who are fighting a course.

He therefore said that Dr. Wereko-Brobbey has never seen any member of the NPP worthy of anything except himself; recounting that he castigates everything which is not coming from him.
He opined that if he says he is leaving the party I will clap for him because he is a liability to the party and the party has been performing well without his involvement in the past and even now.
