Eugene Yaw Boakye Antwi, a National Council member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked the Commissioner of the Electoral Commission, Dr. Kojo Afari Dajn to chose between democracy or coup d’état whiles answering questions in the witness box.
According to the failed NPP candidate for the Subin constituency in Kumasi, the EC boss must come tell Ghanaians “what happened with the registration, what happened on the voting day, what has happened since the petition came to court” but has ended up being evasive in his answers to the Supreme Court.
“When Dr. Afari Djan mounted the witness box last week, I thought, yes, this is a man who wants to redeem his tattered reputation. It does not matter his PHD, It does not matter what accolade is being heaped on Dr. Afari Djan”. “He has to tell us the truth. Exactly what happened, that’s what we need to know. Right, he does not have to side with any political party”, Mr. Yaw Boakye Antwi said.
Afari Djan “must admit” the flaws in the polls conducted in 2013 for the country to “move on”.
