The former constituency chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Michael Omari Wadie, has alleged that it could be that President Mahama knows that more people in his government are involved in the Waterville deal so he is failing to act.

He however alleged that the Waterville and Woyome tale does not involve the three ministers in the late President Mills’ administration, but then some of the lawyers who work at the A-G’s department are linked to the story; in that the wife of lawyer Nerquaye Tetteh who works with the Attorney-General received Ghc400,000 from Alfred Woyome.

Speaking on Okay FM, he further alleged that President Mahama may be silent because he knows that those cabinet members who took part in the judgment debt saga under the late President Mills’ government are in his administration; adding that he does not understand why the President is still waiting on this issue which is denting the image of the Presidency and the nation at large.

He further said that he is not surprised that Alfred Woyome during the appointment of ministers in the Mahama regime warned the President that he should not involve anybody who knows anything about the judgment debt payment since he knew what had happened and what will happen, knowing they could not eliminate Martin Amidu from the case.

He said that the truth has come out plainly after the NDC insulted Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for revealing the corruption in the judgment debt payment; reiterating that if President Mahama does not know anything about the Waterville judgment debt then he should come to sack those involved in his government.

He again said that this should not take anybody to remind the President what to do with those who are still in his cabinet but are directly involved with the judgment debt saga since the Supreme Court has ruled that something went wrong with the payment of the judgment debt.

In the view of the former NPP National Chairman aspirant, keeping these ministers who helped in defrauding the state will create a bad image for his government and for himself because this will send a negative signal to the international community that the country condones criminalities.
He concluded that what is more painful is not the money squandered but the slur casted on the nation; stressing that if these things are not checked and the people involved are not punished, the evil people may keep enjoying but honest and sincere people may suffer in vain.
