Bernard Anim Piesie, NDC Communicator, has hailed President John Mahama's establishment of a new Ministry to steer the power sector in the country.
Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Anim Piesie indicated that the new Ministry of Power, which will be in charge of operations by the power generation and distribution sectors, will help ease the burden on the Energy Ministry.
According to him, it is prudent to set up a new Ministry to ensure that the incessant power cuts in the country are resolved.
He explained that initial mandate given to the Energy Ministry to streamline the power sector placed a huge burden on the Minister, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah.
Its a huge responsibility. Im not sure that in these times, we must have one Minister to oversee that sector.
He therefore was of a strong view that with the new Ministry in place, the energy crises can be dealt with to alleviate the plight of Ghanaians.
He also commended President Mahama for dismissing the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana, Rev. Ing. William Hutton-Mensah.
