Newly-elected National Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress [NDC], Kofi Portuphy has vowed to win the 2016 elections for the ruling party in 2016.
Addressing delegates moments after been declared chairman of the NDC in the just ended delegates congress held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Mr. Portuphy insisted that, its newly elected executives will work tirelessly for the NDC.
�Ladies and gentlemen, NDC agenda for 2016 begins now. 2016 is our goal and we will work together to remain in power in 2016,� he assured
Dr. Kwabena Adjei lost the chairmanship positions to delegates� preferred choice Portuphy, currently the National Coordinator for the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) who polled 2,457 whiles Dr. Kwabena Adjei polled a paltry 316.
Another contestant, Dan Abodakpi, a former Minister of State garnered 508 votes.
Mr Portuphy, in his victory speech pledged to unite the party towards the 2016 general elections, vowing to do everything possible to bring all on board to help steer the affairs of the party into the next elections.
��the party will be stronger than it is now. I will do my very best to unite the NDC so as to prepare us adequately for the battle of 2016 ahead of us� he said during his acceptance speech after being elected as Chairman.
He further promised delegates of the party to make himself available and accessible to the rank and file in order meet the expectations of the grassroot of the party.
��I will be ready to meet you anytime you call. You don�t need touch lights to look for me. I will always be available to you� he said.
