A member of the ruling NDCs legal team, Chris Ackumey has said the party intends staying in power for the next forty years.
According to him, no politician wants to be in opposition and therefore the ruling party is putting adequate measures in place to sustain their stay in power.
Nobody wants to be in opposition and I believe that being a member of the NDC, there is no way I will be in opposition in my lifetime, he told Starr News at the 8th Congress of the party in Kumasi.
He added: "Im 63 years and if I have 40 years to go, just like my father did, I know we will stay in power for that long.
The recent Congress of the ruling party elected new national executives to steer the affairs of the party for the next four year.
Ackumey said he is confident the new executives will be able to retain the party in power come 2016.
