Former General Secretary of the NPP is calling for the suspension of the party’s Northern Region Chairman Daniel Bugri Naabu for allegedly accusing both the current National Chairman and General Secretary of working against the interests of the party's flagbearer.
According to Nana Ohene Ntow, the conduct of the Northern Region Chair has the tendency of sowing seeds of discord between the leadership and Nana Akufo-Addo.
In a recorded tape attributed to him, but which he has subsequently denied, Bugri Naabu is allegedly heard claiming Paul Afoko (Chairman), Kwabena Agyepong (Secretary), Nana Ohene Ntow and others are working against the presidential ambitions of Nana Akufo-Addo.
He is purported to have said the senior party officers have collected various sums of money from the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) to thwart the NPP’s efforts to win the 2016 general elections.
In a statement, the Northern Regional Chairman insisted he was not the person on the tape, adding that it is an attempt to destroy his reputation and sow seeds of discord within the party.
