A lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Journalism has waded into the issue of journalists entering politics advocating for more journalist to go to parliament.
Alex Kwadwo Boateng believes it is the panacea to sanitize the system and bring the needed transparency expected in parliament and government.
According to him, communication practitioners and journalists are needed in government to effectively articulate the people’s view and exhibit their watchdog role perfectly.
Alex Kwadwo Boateng who was speaking to Luv FM’s Prince Appiah at the sidelines of the NPP constituency vetting in Kumasi explained why it is good for journalists to want to be a part of the governance process through parliament.
Mr. Boateng is one of three others contesting the incumbent Frank Boakye Agyin for the Afiduase-Asokore seat.
He observes the downward trend of NPP votes in the area though it is an NPP strong-hold.
Mr. Boateng explains the mechanism the party needs to gain confidence for party.
