The United Front Party [UFP] has congratulated Mrs. Charlotte Osei on her new job as the chairperson of the Electoral Commission [EC].

Leadership of the party maintained that – “We, after going through her huge credentials, are more than convinced that she really qualifies to be in the perceived hot but enviable shoes of the retired Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan”

In a statement signed by the party’s communication director, Nana Kusi-Poku Listowell, the party is calling on the new EC Boss to work with decorum.

Mrs. Charlotte Osei according to the UFP must exhibit professionalism in her duties by bringing on board her predecessor for ideas if needed.

“We acknowledge that the office that she has been appointed to occupy comes with yet another very huge task but we believe that with her substantial know-how in public service management and her far above the ground expertise she is incredibly competent of managing the commission and even adding more values to the accomplishments her experienced colleagues i.e. the three deputy commissioners, three members of the commission together with the retired chairman have chalked”

“…We are also being quick to add that as she assumes the seat, she heeds to all constructive criticisms and disregard all unconstructive critics especially those that are insults and seek to bring her hard won reputation into disrepute” Listowell added

Former EC boss, Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan was much-admired – “We are also commending Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan the outgoing Chairman of the Electoral Commission for a profound work done. His great proficiency in election management has lifted the name of Ghana so high as a democratic country. He has actually safeguarded the peace that we have always enjoyed as Ghanaian people.

“…Dr. Kwadwo Afari Gyan we in the United Front Party say AYIKOO!! We further request that you be given a befitting STATE HONOURY AWARD. We pray that God grants you more life as Ghana will still need your repository of electoral knowledge even as you enjoy retirement.

“…We are, last but not least, thanking the president for not sidestepping the constitution of the Republic of Ghana to do this appointment more so appointing a woman. This action has immensely contributed to the deepening of our democracy and given credit to Affirmative Action respectively.

“…We are praying that the Almighty Jehovah Rohi shall be her shepherd in all her thoughts and shall help her as she executes her policy while she chairs the office of the Electoral Commission”.
