NDC Must Focus On Retaining Power

National Democratic Congress (NDC) activists have been called upon to focus on the main strategic objective of retaining the party and President John Dramani in power.

They have, therefore, been advised to be wary of individuals who were bent on sowing seeds of discord among them for monetary and personal gains.

Mr Samuel K. Kubema, an NDC activist and a zonal representative of the party in the Ho West constituency who gave the advice, urged party activists to use any media space available to them to market the ’’good policies and achievements of President Mahama’s government’’

Grievances

He said internal party matters should be resolved amicably through the laid-down channels of addressing grievances and not in the media, which usually gave cause to doubt the sincerity of those making the allegations.

He said they should resist the temptation to create negative impressions and falsehood about personalities who had been with the party only for the opposition to seize such opportunities to undo the party.

He, therefore, described as unfortunate allegations against the Deputy Minister of Energy in charge of Petroleum, Mr Benjamin Dagadu, that he was supporting Mr Samuel Ewoade, the District Chief Executive for Ho West, to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho West, Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah.

Winning power

He said this unfortunate development was causing a lot of unnecessary tension among party loyalists in Ho West, while the main objective of winning power had been relegated to the background .

Mr Kubema, therefore, urged loyal NDC members to not buy into the rumour which was meant to destroy the goodwill and peace prevailing in the Ho West Constituency.

He explained that whoever wished President Mahama and the NDC well should think of innovative ways of retaining the NDC in 2016 by avoiding unnecessary tension and lies about notable and respected personalities in the constituency.

Mr Kubema expressed surprise that a donation of cash at the funeral of a member of the NDC by Mr Dagadu could be interpreted to mean he was supporting the candidature of one person against another.

He explained that it was not the first time the deputy minister had supported such party activities.
