A member of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) in the Asawase Constituency in the Ashanti Region has been stabbed to death, Friday.
The man was identified as Abubakar Saddiq, a 37-year old spare parts dealer at Suame magazine in Kumasi.
Abubakar Saddiq was alleged to be part of the angry Akufo-Addo loyalists who locked up the Asawase Constituency office, Thursday in protest over comments made by the Chairman of the Constituency.
The deceased and several other supporters had threatened to beat up the Constituency Chair for supporting suspended National Chairman, Paul Afoko.
He was said to have gone to the constituency office on hearing the office had been ransacked Friday morning but was attacked and murdered by unknown assailants.
The incident happened few minutes after midday.
It is however not clear who masterminded the murder or whether the murder has any link to the ongoing chaos within the opposition New Patriotic Party.
