“A ‘beautiful’ actor turns ‘ugly’ with no future” - that is what Kumasi-based actor, Clement Bonney also known as Mr. Beautiful has been described by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP.
Chairman 'Wontumi' as affectionately called in politics has countered actor Mr. Beautiful after he exhibited rudeness with intend to upset him [Wontumi].
Clement Bonney in response to Wontumi’s warning that artistes must not openly campaign for President John Dramani Mahama in Kumasi – labelled the NPP Ashanti regional chairman as "Childish" and "Mad" and a little boy in Ghana’s politics.
The actor insisted on rallying some of his fellow screen actors to openly campaign for the re-election of President Mahama in the upcoming November 7 polls just as he did four years ago despite the warning.
But Chairman Wontumi on NEAT FM’s morning show opined that – the comic actor’s career has already been shuttered after declaring his support for the president.
“Is he really beautiful? His career has already ended so I have no time to waste on such person. I can say on authority that, no one will buy his [Mr Beautiful] movie in Kumasi. Even for free, the people in Kumasi are not interested in him anymore.”
“Any producer who will feature him will do that at his own risk because he is outmoded,” he said.
Chairman Wontumi however challenged the actor to start his acting career again – “I dare him to do that and see the outcome. No one will buy his movie.”
