Parliament has suspended sitting in honour of the Member of Parliament who was murdered in cold blood on Tuesday.
Joseph Boakye Danquah was stabbed to death at his Shiashi residence in Accra.
PEACE FM Parliamentary correspondent Emmanuel Akorley reported that the MPs were shattered after hearing the news and as a result a motion was moved by the Minority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu for the suspension of sitting in honour of their colleague MP.
“we must bond together and go and visit the family and the crime scene. The house is not in the right mood to do business” the speaker of Parliament said in response to the motion.
Meanwhile, five persons including two women have been picked up in connection with the murder. Three of them are security detail at the MP’s house.
The unknown assailants used a ladder to enter the bedroom of the lawmaker to commit the heinous crime, the police preliminary investigations revealed.
