Lawyers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) threatened to cite suspended National Chairman of the party Paul Afoko for Contempt of court if he does not desist from media comments and prosecution of the case he on his own has brought to court.
Counsel for the NPP Godfred Dame sought a court order Thursday to compel Mr. Afoko to cease all media comments until the final determination of the case in court.
The presiding Judge Anthony Yeboah after hearing from lawyer for Afoko, Safo Boabeng who admitted that his client has indeed been making comments on the media landscape simply said no comment and adjourned the matter to the 12th of April for both parties to complete the filing of documents.
Mr Afoko has in the past month granted several interviews to some radio and TV stations in relation to happenings in the NPP some of which are said to have touched on the matter in court.
