Central Regional Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has labeled Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom as a "big disgrace" to the country.
Speaking in an interview on Peace News Bulletin at 12 noon, Allotey Jacobs heavily censured the flagbearer of the Progressive People's Party (PPP), Dr. Nduom for making disparaging remarks about the NDC.
Dr. Nduom is reported to have accused the members of the NDC of making merry over the demise of the late President John Evans Atta Mills.
"Mills was our kinsman and he became the President. Some people criticized and attacked him until he died. And some of the NDC people, themselves, thanked God that Mills died. Is that not strange? And after his death, they came back here to tell us to replace him with another person from the Central Region.
" . . they go about provoking us that if Mills had not died, the NDC wouldn't be in government today . . . It appears as though they deliberately pushed him to the seat so they can commit their wrongs behind him," he said.
To him, the NDC somehow was expectant of the late President's death in a bid to retain the party in government.
Allotey Jacobs registered his displeasure with the comments made by Dr. Nduom, stressing that he (Dr. Nduom) has denigrated the residents in the Western Region.
He stated that the statements by the PPP flagbearer were unfortunate.
Allotey believed Dr. Nduom made such remarks in order to be acclaimed as a Statesman but to him, the PPP Flagbearer should have allowed his party workers to make those comments because "such statements should be made by children".
“It is the most unfortunate statement coming from Kwesi Nduom who wants to be called or he wants to be seen as a Statesman coming from the Central Region. He is a big disgrace . . . He should have allowed his party workers to make such comments and not him, Kwesi Nduom.
"He is a very good friend of mine. How can he say this? It is the biggest lie. Kwesi Nduom shouldn’t have said this at all. I think it was a slip . . . It’s most unfortunate.”
In a quick riposte to Allotey's remarks about Dr. Nduom, Richmond Keelson, Spokesperson for PPP flagbearer and founder also said during an interview on the news bulletin that he believes Dr. Nduom was "only pointing out the hypocrisy" in the NDC administration.
He said the PPP flagbearer only echoed the words of the NDC founder, former President Rawlings who he believes gave credence to the statements by Dr. Nduom.

Leaders words should always have impacts within for their followers life improvements . The focused should be moving forward and not turning judges over each other's statements cos I don't see how this add any value to our lives as Ghanains. Doc is as equally wrong as you , Ghanaians need innovate inventors who have within their policies strategies to create sustainable jobs with reliable wages not propaganda economy verses infrastructure, this makes me wonder if we truly practicing democratic politics or nepotism/Sarcasm politics. The truth may hurt and very bitter but people of my kind rather inject the truth or nothing. Now ;- considering your anger over doc's statement , it makes me wonder and want to ask Is there a bit of truth in doc's claims ? Was that really the NDC intention ? And did they truly eliminate prof just to achieve it self gratification greed? We all know human erasion is not a joking matter so be mature in whatever you says as leaders. One advise:- You can ***barred word*** people all the time but you can not ***barred word*** people forever cos just one day even those born with the ***barred word*** virus will get healed naturally by the heats of hardship caused cos of their leaders greed for wealth. Let's not forget those living in the war-zone areas are like us and God loves them just like he loves us , which means whatever that is happening there can happen here too . A wise man always learns from the mistakes of others but a ***barred word*** on it own . A word to the wise is enough
What Ndoum said was the fact, former presido Rawlings said it when NDC won the elections. Na true now, fantes be wise the NDC wants to tell you that you are just good to help them win elections and be in power wise-up
