Scheduled Manifesto launch of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Tamale Sports Stadium on October 8, 2016, hangs in the balance as there are indications a football game is billed for the same period.
According to snippets of information gathered by ultimatefmonline.com, the Black Stars of Ghana are scheduled to host Uganda at the same venue in a 2018 World Cup qualifying game on Friday, October 7.
This according to Oboshie Sai Coffie, a member of the party’s campaign team, could trigger a date change in the launch for the 2016 manifesto,
“We [NPP] are launching it [manifesto] in October. Originally, the date was the 8th. I understand there is a little bit of discussion of the Black Stars playing a match on the same day which was arranged after our day so right now we are going to determine which date it is going to be,”
She, however, maintained there is a tentative date which will have to be announced officially by the party. She said “it has to be agreed by the steering Committee and then we will announce it.
Acting National Chairman Mr Freddie Blay on Tuesday urged the electorate not to be worried over the delays in the launch of the manifesto. He said that the yet to be launched manifesto believed to be in works, has been ready all this while, is not a voluminous document to read and therefore want supporters of the party to stay calm awaiting its official launch.
“Our manifesto has been ready for a very long time. It is not a voluminous document and we will launch it very soon. We will need your support to make it easily digestible to the electorate”, he revealed on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko
According to him, the leadership of the party is not worried over the delays in launching the manifesto stating that they are not in contention with any other political party to do so.

WHAT IS THE INCOMPETENCE ABOUT CHANGE IN DATE BECAUSE THERE IS GOING TO BE FOOTBALL MATCH ON THE SAME DATE?
change the venue...why not kumasi..to help increase our figures..Tamale is a bad decision
Can't understand NDC ***barred word***,why worry? Collection of incompetencies and corrupt party.
TOTALLY DISORGANIZED PARTY. CLEAR SIGNS OF INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP, DWARF VISION . A LEADERSHIP BEREFT WITH IDEAS. BLACK STARS FIXTURES WERE FIXED AS FAR BACK IN JUNE 24 FOR SUCH A CRUCIAL MATCH. HOW COULD A PARTY WHO IS SERIOUS WILL FIXED A MAJOR POLICY LAUNCH WITH EQUALLY A MAJOR NATIONAL EVENT IN THE SAME WEEK OR DAY. MY GOODNESS. EVIDENCE BASED OF INCOMPETENCY
Listen to the NPP ***barred word***
STADIA ARE FOR SPORTING ACTIVITIES BUT NOT FOR MANIFESTO LAUNCHES.EVEN IF YOU PLAN TO USE THE STADIUM,ONCE THE THERE IS A FOOTBALL MATCH,IT SUPERSEDES YOUR LAUNCH SO VAMOOSE.
When I heard akomea appealing to Afoko and kwabena to rejoin them, I suspected that the current leadership are not doing a good job. The way things are going, it's clear the leadership are performing poorly. The party now come across to floating voters as not being a credible alternative to ruling government. They spend too much time talking about ndc manifesto and waste time sitting down and finding it so difficult to even fix a date and venue for manifesto launch. Nana Addo too is not healthy, if care is not taken and he falls sick again, the launch could be postponed again. It's just sad the way things are going. Up to date I have not seen one campaign vehicle in my constituency.
I have always loved NPP, particularly when president kuffour was the leader. This current Npp is not serious to lend my support to. A party in opposition for 8 years cannot figure out how to launch a campaign manifesto. The party seem so disorganized and that is a big worry to most of us. All these wouldn't have happened if kuffour still happens to be the leader. When John Boadu was asked to act as general secretary I asked myself how on earth could we give such a serious position to someone who doesn't know his left from his right. There were buabeng asamoah, adusei poku and even mustapha hamid who are far far smarter and more intelligent to handle this position. Listen to both Freddie Blay and Boadu, their voices are as if, they are sitting on the toilet seat.
They should shift it to another venue. Thats all. Why not kumasi Sports Stadium.
The truth is one.....the NPP has no leader so they put together a manifesto....Period
