The University of Ghana medical centre, which is expected to be completed and commissioned in November this year, will deliver world-class medical and health services, Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Deputy Minister of Communications has said.
The US$217 million facility is a medical complex that is expected to focus on academic training of pre-service and practising health professionals, as well as provide research and clinical services at a quaternary level.
Mr Kwakye Ofosu tweeted on Sunday September 25 that: “…World-class healthcare and medical education is here (medical centre).”

Massa; are you not tired of lying as an NDC reptile ; the hospital is a self -financing project ; it was not the initiative of Jon Mahama ; why do you think Jon Mahama initiated these self financing government to government projects; these are already conceived projects and when you talk about heatlh tourism ; Jon Mahama has no creative mentality to create anything for Ghanaians ; the man is a serial womaniser impreganating women ; Jon Mhama will even sleep with a 'PIG' in a womans skirt ;do you leave on a different planet or have you just arrived in Ghana ; because the whole Accra is filthy with rubbish a complete health hazard besides where are the medical expects to man these hospitals ;most experienced doctors are leaving the country tom practice abroad besides what you dshould is that merely accumulating debts on the Ghanaian tax payer for today's political show but forget that it is our great grand children who are going to pay for these projects besides are you MAD !!!!!!!; how can you compare Kwame Nkrumah to Jon Mahama because Jon Mahama as far everybody is concerned is the worse Ghaians leader up to date called the 'BORROWER PRESIDENT' today he cannot even pay the salaries because the IMF is not coming up with the cash neither is the international bond prepared to lend them anymore cash .
petty as usual ...npp will not see anything good coming from ndc .....give credit wen its due.....why didnt npp help university of ghana....during their time to build .....shame ....u
The cost says it all,if the hospital had been an initiative of the government, 600million would have been "used"for the construction. The difference is clear
The university itself built the hospital not jm. This is false Ofosu kwakye. In any case mahama said infrastructural developments, every government do and praising yourself with what the university has built is even an exercises in mediocrity.
