Tina Mensah beats Obuobia to win Weija-Gbawe constituency seat
After many months of an intense campaign, political swedge, dedication and tenacity, the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary candidate Tina Naa Ayeley Mensah has attained the Weija-Gbawe constituency.
Tina, who beat Rosemund Comfort Abrah during NPP’s primaries, floored National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Obuobia Darko-Opoku to attain the Weija-Gbawe parliamentary seat.
Tina polled 34,216 out of 59,707 total valid votes cast while Obuobia polled 25,087 votes. The Progressive People’s Party’s (PPP) candidate Jessica Manuel managed to amass 426 votes.
On the presidential elections, Nana Akufo Addo of the NPP polled 36,803 while John Dramani Mahama of the NDC polled 22,398.
Delivering her acceptance speech, Tina said she was very happy to attain the parliamentary seat and that, hard work won her the seat.
