President-Elect, Nana Akufo-Addo, has asked Ghanaians to express gratitude to President John Mahama for his show of maturity in defeat during the just ended general election, and the ensuing transition process.
Nana Akufo-Addo said President Mahama demonstrated that he was a true democrat who had the development of his nation at heart, when he committed to a smooth transition of power by conceding following his defeat.
Speaking at a meeting with the leadership of the Ghana Catholic Bishops Conference at his Nima residence on Friday, Nana Akufo-Addo intimated that, Ghana would not be enjoying the current peace and stability if President Mahama had refused to concede defeat.
“I think all of us in Ghana have to be thankful that we have in him [Mahama] a man who is also devoted to the peace and stability of our country. He has comported himself in a manner to ensure a smooth transition.”
“We believe that the manner in which he is going about it, is reassuring to our peace especially when you see what is going on in other parts of our continent and we have to be thankful for that,” the President-elect said.

I am very sure your wife or girl friend beats you everyday, yet when you get the chance to make comment on this platform you try to portray you are a man. I am not sure you have even killed a fly before.
I never liked nana Addo, but for the past few months I have realized he has turned a new leaf. I now doff my hat to him, he is showing more maturity than his all day be die days. This is what Ghana needs. If one does what is right say it, and when he does what is wrong too say it, but not always criticizing for the sake of it. I believe nana Addo as a person would do the right thing as a president, but my fear is people such as wontumi, Ken agyepong, obiri boahene, KT Hammond, bugri Naabu and co that would be surrounding him. These hawks are likely to tarnish him image if he does not nip them in the bud as soon as possible.
By the way are you aware of the blood shed by politicians many of whom are from your side. Ask since 1992 how many cows have been buried alive. Don't waste our ears. The foreign mallams that are imported to a ghana during elections. What happened in Ghana in 2013. Fire outbreaks everywhere, many gory gory accidents. Where were you then?
As far as medis reports were concerned those fetish priests were sent there not by the party itself but certain individuals. In any case what was their mission? To curse people who tried to rig. Call on those who sent them to pacify whoever and leave nana Addo alone. Was he the one who sent them there.
@aubrey mends Your comments should be taken serious for yesterday at Kokoben in Kumasi a motor bike just exploded on the Kumasi Obuasi highway burning the rider who is currently battling for his life at KATH. Nana Addo may truly have invoked the evil deities hmmmm God have mercy on us
Mahama had on option except to concede. We would have shown him his size if he had refused to concede. Vigilance prevented the intended rigging scheme of NDC and the EC. Once beaten through ***barred word*** in 2012 the NPP learnt real lessens for 2016. ONAAAAPO!
Nana Addo pls stop this populace conduct and quickly pacify the deities you consulted for victory. Has the NPP gone to give thanks to the two fetish priest whom Nana Addo invited to visit mayhem on Ghanaians at the NPP regional office in Bantama. These fetish priest cum Natuve Doctors were in full glare of astonished Ghanaians hurling curses on the good people of this country, inviting fires to consume people with special attention on LPG gas stations fire. Fatalities for Ghanaians and you name them for every Ghanaian witnessed it. We are certainly in terrible times. Nana has sold the nation to the Devil and we are in for trouble fellow Ghanaians
I always told my friends , its 0nly an NDC defeat that is going to preserve the peace of this country. I was quite scared Whenever i thought of a Nana defeat- Bless God the NDC lost. The way they attacked the EC, register, everything. The NPP as a party was not psychologically prepared for defeat and it saddens me that all the stake holders did not put in much effort in this regard. I would recommend that in future elections, stake holders prepare the two main parties psychologically for defeat rather than asking them to pledge for peace ( Its called conditioning - You cannot predict how someone would behave in the face of a massive shock - Hence Nana Addo's praise of the outgoing president- And He is right. Mahama needs be praised.
You chanted all die be die not long ago. You were on the neck of mills as 'do little'. You tagged your opponent as incompetent. You promised to make Ghana ungovernable since 2012 till date, and you carried it on Yet you forget you're incapable sleeping mataata who'll expire very soon. No one wish your demise and failed sorry as a president, but Karma has been a bitch all along. Despite jdm s comportment as a fine gentle stateman who won't be vindictive against you, remember nature cannot be cheated. The faith you and your militants wished for mills and the mahama government will befall you soon. Do you remember your absence from the swearing in of both mills in 2009 and mahama in 2013? Do you remember your npp organised brand band shows at kumasi when mills passed on? Remember, when you chew the fingers of a gorilla make sure yours have insurance. Sieto #wearewatching keenly Yet you forget that you are incapable sleeping mataata.
Hmm. All the maturity shown by the President, if the shoe was on the other foot will we have witnessed such tranquility? This man and his people never allowed the President to have peace to rule. Today he is in the driving seat and has all of a sudden began to pontificate. God have mercy on all of us.
