President Akufo-Addo has been advised to seize the moment and take the moral high ground to apologize to Ghanaians on the debacle of portions of his inaugural speech.
Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Koku Anyidoho, speaking on Kasapa FM, indicated that for the President to have publicly read a plagiarized quote from another public personality, without credit to the originator, it is critical for him not to withdraw from speaking to the issue himself.
Social media has been awash with some quotes in Nana Addo’s speech, believed to have been lifted from speeches originally made by two former American Presidents – Woodrow Wilson and Clinton.
President, Akufo-Addo in his inaugural speech that has been widely commended, quoted Thomas Woodrow Wilson, an American politician and academic who served as the 28th President of the United States from 1913 to 1921.
“We are bound by ideals that teach us what it means to be citizens. Every child must be taught these ideals. Every citizen must uphold them…. I ask you to be citizens. Citizens, not spectators. Citizens, not subjects. Responsible citizens building communities of service and a nation of character.” Wilson said in a speech in 1913.
An apology from the Communication Bureau of the Presidency has been released in the media for the blunder caused, over the portions of President Akufo-Addo’s inaugural speech, which clearly did not acknowledge the sources of the quotes he used during his investiture.
But, Anyidoho commenting on the issue said the matter is beyond the remit of a mere communicator- Eugene Arhin, hence the President must be responsible to “apologize himself with his voice.”

KURASINI, LOOK AT HIS FACE! WHEN BIG PRESIDENTS STEP INTO OFFICE, THEY SMELL AS SUCH! DON'T HIDE YOUR ADMIRATION FOR NANA, STOP BEING A JOKE. CONTRARY TO YOUR EMPTY ASSERTION THAT NANA CAN NEVER BECOME A PRESIDENT, NOT ONLY HAS GOD MADE HIM ONE BUT A BIG ONE FOR THAT MATTER. CAN'T YOU SEE HE'S ALREADY SHOT GHANA ONTO THE WORLD STAGE? HAVE YOU SEEN THE LIKES OF PRESIDENTS HE'S BEING COMPARED TO? YOUR JEALOUSY FOR HIM AND HIS VICE KNOWS NO BOUND. FOR YOU INFO, 90% OF ALL DISEASES AND SICKNESSES IN THE WORLD ARE CONTRACTED THROUGH EMOTIONAL STRESS OF WHICH JEALOUSY IS ONE OF THEM. MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IS, FREE YOURSELF OF THIS DISEASE BEFORE IT CARRIES YOU ACROSS THE BRIDGE OF MORTALITY BEFORE YOUR TIME. GYAE NKURASES3M NO NA GYIMIE W) WO HO DODO! 3YAA BU ADI3!

The BIG ***barred word*** WITH SMELLING MOUTH Deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC), Koku Anyidoho has appeared again. It is this same act that will keep them in opposition for a long. Their smelling mouth and incompetence landed them where they now belong. When will Koku Anyidoho begin to think like a normal human being who stayed in the mothers womb for 9 months.
***barred word***, apologize to who you?when did you ndc apologize to Ghanaians? I don't think your priority of plagiarism is important to Ghanaians. Did you apologize to Ghanaians when you refered to Uhuru Kenyatta as the president of Ghana? Or do you people think you are somebody's in Ghana? Do you think Ghanaians take you ndc serious?commit from there idi*t Anyidoho go and dare Nana now and see your smoothness level,***barred word*** akwa akwa. I think you don't have nothing to do in opposition than to talk ?Go find job to do,your ndc is unattractive because of people like you Anyidoho and they still leave these disrespectful, unco*th and uncultured elements to come out to talk. Go burn the sea if your problem is apology! Aaah such rude arrogant, disrespectful people asking for apology because the president's speech writer used some potion of American president's speech and so what? Were they the originators of that phrase Koku Anyidoho go burn the Keta lagoon . don't insult our intelligence since we don't want to hear nothing from you.
At least the speech was not missing
My attention has been drawn to references being made to a statement in the speech delivered by th President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo - Addo, at his swearing in on Saturday, January 7, 2017 which was not duly acknowledged. I unreservedly apologise for the non-acknowledgement of this quote to the original author. It was a complete oversight, and never deliberate. It is insightful to note that in the same speech were quotes from Dr J.B. Danquah, Dr. K.A. Busia, Dr.Kwame Nkrumah and the Bible which were duly acknowledged. Mr Eugene Arhin this is what the Ghanaian people expect responsible citizens who are paid with the Tax payers money to do. You did the honourable thing by apologizing to the public. You apologies is duly received. Massa go ahead and do your work. The speech was very inspiring and heart warming! Koku Anyidoho HE President Nana Akufo-Addo does need to even say a word about this. He needs to attend to very pressing needs bothering the lives of many deprived Ghanaians who the NDC government failed to attend to. The man incharge that job has apologised and that alone is a big deal That is what good leaders do. This is what you could not do when you had the opportunity Wai. Great Leaders hardly talk they listen more and that is what HE. President Akufo-Addo is doing wai!
DESPERATION GALORE!!!!!
Is this the very constructive criticism NDC folks talked about ? Well, if this is it, I can promise the NDC that , they shall be in opposition for so many years to come due to their lack of knowledge and failure to learn from the past.
