The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has warned it should not be blamed for any degeneration of the peace in the country should its members defend themselves against the unbridled attacks on them by supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
NDC national chairman, Kofi Portuphy, at a press conference, accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of looking on unconcerned while his party supporters attack their opponents, citing incidents at toll booths around the country, the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority at the Tema Port and Agbogbloshie in Accra.
He said four members of the NDC have died in post-election attacks since the December 7, 2016 polls.
Graphic Online’s Kweku Zurek reports from the press conference that Mr. Portuphy is also accusing the President and his new NPP government of acting cowardly in the matter of the controversial retirement home for ex-President John Mahama to cover their own shame emanating from the plagiarised speech read by Nana Addo at his investiture.
"We wish to assure Nana Akufo-Addo that no amount of bad faith he exhibits will wipe away the heaps of shame and disgrace he has brought upon himself and Kwame Nkrumah's Ghana."
"Indeed Nana Akufo-Addo is better off apologizing to the good people of Ghana for his improper conduct of intellectual dishonesty and academic fraud rather than continuing to show bad faith after a smooth transfer of authority of state to him", he stated.
And he says in all these, there are men of God looking on who are now praising evil in the country.
Incidents of forceful seizures and banishment of staff from a number of public institutions and property have been reported from around the country, in some instances attended by destruction of public property, while the police say they are having to deal with too many such case.
Superintendent Cephas Arthur, Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Police Service says the police are dealing with the situation and have in many instances averted those unauthorised actions or prevented the situation from escalating.
He told Joy News in some instances the perpetrators had actually abandoned their plans and taken to their heels upon seeing the police approach. He acknowledged some arrests but said the suspects were yet to be prosecuted.

IF PORTUPHY AND ASIEDU NKETIAH CARES THEY SHOULD GO AND ASK RAWLINGS THE EVIL THINGS HE DID IN GHANA AFTER HIS COUP IN 1981.HOW MANY GHANAIANS HE MURDERED INCLUDING EVEN SUPREME COURT JUDGES,THE PRIVATELY OWNED COMPANIES HE SEIZED IN THE NAME OF FIGHTING CORRUPTION.THESE PEOPLE BELONG TO SUCH EVIL TRADITION AND TURN ROUND TO ISSUE THREATS TO GHANAIANS AND A SITTING PRESIDENT.THEY HAVE NO SENSE OF SHAME AFTER THE HUMILIATING DEFEAT JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO.THE UPCOMING INFIGHTING IN THAT E-VIL AND VIOLENT PARTY WILL LEAD TO ITS COLLAPSE FOR GHANA TO HAVE ITS PEACE
When is the Police Service bringing out the report on the supposed ammunition found at the NPP Headquarters. This is long overdue. The Police service is a big disappointment in the scheme of current happenings. The IGP must act now.
Does it not occur to these misfits in the NDC that those who hate their guts are more than those who love them. Some of us would want nothing less than the total collapse of the NDC.They are still on radio stations talking arrogantly and spewing their usual lies and propaganda. Wont these rats ever learn?
I am happy that the NDC is sad. This is exactly what we are looking for. You haven't seen anything yet.
BAD DEAL LIKE BAD LAW CAN NEVER BE RIGHT. ANY BAD DEAL WOULD NO LONGER BE BINDING. I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THE BONGO MP TO SEE THE BAD FAITH BY WHICH MAHAMA HAD ACTED TO REQUEST THE RESIDENCE AND CONDEMN IT. MANY IN NDC LIKE BONGO MP HAVE POOR SENSE OF JUDGEMENT. THEY CANNOT BE JUST TO SEE THE EVIL OF MAHAMA REQUEST TO CONDEMN IT. WHERE IS KWESI PRATT THE THE SELF STYLED CHAMPION OF SOCIAL JUSTICE.
ITS TIME WE TELL THESE OUR EXECUTIVES TO BE SERIOUS. INSTEAD OF US TO THINK OF HOW TO RESTRUCTURE OUR PARTY TO TAKE GHANA FROM THESE ***barred word*** NPP PEOPLE,SEE THE NON SENSE PRESS CONFERENCE U DID. IF PPL ARE ATTACKED, CANT THOSE BEING ATTACKED REPORT TO THE POLICE? RATHER THAN REPORTING TO THE EXECUTIVES, WHY CANT WE BE SERIOUS FOR ONCE AS A PARTY? I VE ALWAYS TELL HIS EXCELLENCY MAHAM TO BECAREFUL OF UR ATTITUDES. AND AS FOR KOFI ADAMS N ADE COKER, THE LEAST SAID ABOUT THEM, THE BETTER.

FUOOLS, HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHAT YOU DID AFTER 2008 ELECTIONS? ***barred word*** YOUR BIG MOUITHS AND UGL1 FACES.I COULD SEE THE FACES OF DISSAPOINTED NDC SUPPORTERS. THEY THOUGHT GAHANIANS WILL ALLOW THEM TO DRAIN OUR NATIONAL PURSE AGAIN NO!NEVER AGAIN. JM, TWASO!!!
