Ablekuma West MP and Minister-designate for Communications, Ursula Owusu Ekuful has supported Parliament's formation of a 5-member Committee to investigate the recent corruption allegations.
Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo, Mrs. Owusu Ekuful noted that the investigations will definitely help resolve the issue.
She called on the leadership of the House to sanction any person found guilty in the latest corruption saga to serve as deterrent to other members of the House.
Ursula Owusu Ekuful however defended the integrity of the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko who has been accused of offering a bribe to members of the Parliamentary Appointments Committee.
She wondered how his accuser, Mahama Ayariga - MP for Bawku Central - could link him to the bribery issue when his witnesses have denied the claims.
To her, there should be thorough investigation into the issue to absolve Parliament.
“Triple double hearsay, how do you prove that? Even if, for the sake of argument, there was some money involved; how do you link it to this particular (candidate) nominee...that he’s the person that brought the money when he has also stated categorically that he never given you a penny? I therefore support that they should launch an investigation…”
