A former Presidential Staffer Clement Apaak has dismissed claims that over 200 vehicles used by the former President John Mahama and members of his administration cannot be found.
The communications director at the Presidency Eugene Arhin told NeatFM that the unavailability of the vehicles has forced the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to resort to vehicles he used during the 2016 campaign for trips outside Accra.
Mr. Arhin added that the saloon car being used by Akufo-Addo within Greater Accra is a 2007 BMW model which was purchased during the Ghana@50 celebrations.
“As I speak to you there is only one vehicle he has been using during his rounds in Accra. You definitely have to ask yourself where are all the vehicles…President Akufo-Addo is currently using a 2007 BMW model purchased by the state during the Ghana @50 celebrations…that is what he is using. So where are the cars?” he rhetorically asked Kwasi Aboagye, host of the show.
Mr. Arhin told Naa Dedei Tettey on Starr Today Tuesday.
But Mr. Apaak in a reaction described the claims as strange stating that all government officials handed over their vehicles before they left office.
“It is a strange occurrence because as far as I know all cars that we used should be in the custody of the state…I will find it a bit more strange if indeed the claims he [Eugene Arhin] made can be justified.
Asked whether he returned his official vehicle before he left office, Mr. Apaak said “I did and I know many of our colleagues also handover their cars.”
Apaak added “the only vehicles that we were allowed to pay as part of auction are the salon cars that we had used for four years…so to say that 200 cars are missing I find it strange and one that we cannot fathom with.”

Please let us koe who the vehicles were handed over to so Ghanaians would go and ask them for the vehicles.
Its very strange. For all you know these NPP guys could form a cartel,to paint the past Gov't bad, and then hide those cars that were duly handed over to them for their personal gains. Either to car dealers for marketing or hidden somewhere after the storm is over. You see them driving them as their personal or bonafide property. I think the CID, DVLA, IRS and Customs should be on the look out for them. The cars are with them. We want our elected President to have a sound mind to do the Job for Us. So NPP Guys watch your self and stop Throwing stones where there is no bird or target to hit.
Is it not Mahama who issued a letter banning auction of state cars to workers who are leaving office? What changed for them to auction the cars for themselves. GOD IS WATCHING ALL OF US
This Apaak guy have no crediblity.Ghanaians should ignore
