The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Maulvi Mohammed Bin Salih, has stated that with the election of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President of the Republic, on December 7, 2016, Ghanaians have finally found the leader they have longed for.
According to Maulvi Bin Salih, the determination and resilience exhibited by President Akufo-Addo, resulting in his victory at the 3rd time of asking, coupled with the overwhelming margin of victory secured in the elections, point to the level of confidence Ghanaians have reposed in him as the leader who will bring progress and prosperity to the nation.
Maulvi Bin Salih made this known on Thursday, February 16, 2017, when he led a delegation of the National Executive Council of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to the Presidency to thank President Akufo-Addo for gracing the 85th anniversary celebration of the Mission, on January 12, 2017.
The head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission noted that Ghana’s major “shortcoming” over the years has been the leadership, explaining that the hardworking, industrious people of Ghana “do not deserve the situation we find ourselves in.”
The result of the December 7 election, Maulvi Bin Salih noted “proved that Ghana is mature and is ready to take back its place in the comity of nations.”
He was confident that Ghana, under the leadership of President Akufo-Addo, would thrive, indicating that “I am not prophesying, I don’t prophesy. I am only talking out of my convictions.”
Touting the selflessness of the President, Maulvi Bin Salih noted that barely 5 days after taking office, “and even though we (Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission) hadn’t come to congratulate you (President Akufo-Addo) on your victory, you did not hesitate to honour our invitation.
The President assured me that he will attend the event, stating that ‘I will not disappoint you’, and true to his word, he did not disappoint.”
Maulvi Bin Salih, in concluding, invited President Akufo-Addo to the Annual Worldwide Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, which takes place from July 28-30, 2017, in London, adding that “you will become the very first President ever to attend this event”, should the President decide to honour the invitation.
On his part, the President was grateful for the words of commendation from Maulvi Bin Salih, and applauded the contribution of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission towards the development of country, in the fields of education, healthcare and the provision of social services.
President Akufo-Addo noted that in addition to the constitutional provisions which demand religious tolerance and harmony amongst the populace, he told Maulvi Bin Salih he had a deep, personal attachment to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission.
“Your predecessor (the late Maulvi Wahab Adam) was one of my principal counselors, a deeply religious person and a man of integrity. As Attorney General, I had the privilege of recommending him to President Kufuor for appointment as a member of the National Reconciliation Commission, which was set up to heal the wounds of the nation after decades of military rule. He excelled in the work of the Commission and was one of its driving forces,” he added.
The President also paid tribute to the late Alhassan Bin Salih, elder brother of Maulvi Bin Salih, stating that “he was one of the great figures of our party. He was a man of unbending integrity, and made sure that we always did the right thing.”
President Akufo-Addo appealed to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission to “pray for me and for those who work with me, so we are inspired by the Almighty to do a good job for Ghana. Pray to God to give me wisdom, courage and make me a compassionate leader
“I want to be an honest leader, a good leader and one who will be remembered as having contributed significantly to the progress and welfare of Ghana.”

How can you stoop so low? Such a f&&lish comment form one who is supposed to know better.
It is ok to support or belong to a party, but to come down so low from the spiritual realms(Leader of a Religious Sect) to virtually insult all former presidents is much regrettable. The Mulvi should not forget that its not every Ahmaddi that is NPP.He is dividing the Ahmaddi front just because of his parochial and selfish interest. He should rise above this, after all many are those who are aware that he is a Gold Card Bearing member of the NPP.Late Mulvi Wahab Adam never stooped so low...RIP
The man has said it all,Ghana has finally found a leader after 2008.He has spoken well.It is not every president who is a leader so one can be president but not a leader.A leader is principle, influential, visionary, responsible, persistent ,promise and deliver, optimistic etc all these can be attributable to H.E the president Nana Addo Therefore the man has hit the nail right on the head.May Allah bless you Maulvi Bin Salih
How can you say that Ghana has finally found a leader? What about Kuffour, Atta mills, JJ and John Mahama? Who were they? Sometimes our religious leaders are more treacherous and sycophants. Please, tell the Imam to respect our former presidents. Noko fiooo
If you don't like John Mahama that is fine, but to say Ghana has now found a leader is an insult to JJ and kuffour, to say the least, not forgetting Nkrumah and others. The hatred for John Mahama in the heart of people is so worrying. People hate him to the extent that even though there is a change of government some guys still blame him for fuel hikes, price hikes and even their own personal problems. Quite nauseating.
People like @Koliko will put NDC into PERPETUAL OPPOSITION
Ffoolish talk from a terrorist stomach clergy. How can say that for an eevil and satanic character like Nana addo
This man is a sycophant! Give respect where it is due.
His Excellency please God is already with you and has granted your request with the margin of overwhelming sounding victory over our nation wreckers (NDC) Please do all it takes to lift Ghana and for that matter Ghanaians for a Life dignity. Poverty, we don't deserve and in all some Ghanaians are out of the poverty arena so why can't all of us. My Request: 1. Try and make sure your infrastructure physical development comes to tie with the environmental stature of KNUST or SSNIT flats area so to change our environmental face. It eradicates physical poverty. 2. Modern public transportation like MMT, Aayalolo and VIP are all example. Do best to cancel and stop cargo vans (Trotro) which commute Ghanaians. Trotro is a symptoms of Poverty. 3. #1District1Factory will surely create jobs in the district levels and do your best to multiple it even 5 factories in a district will do. 4. Transform the face of Central Government service delivery departments, institutions and agencies to allign with the New Ghana Dream from corruption, Bribery and nepotism. 5. There are millions of Ghana talents in all angles of our nation and set up new Offices that will lead the new Ghana dream and mobilize the existing and new talents. In China, local talents are creating businesses and companies in their district or province in their New China Dream. 6. The above will inspire Ghanaians home and abroad to do more for ourselves, and the unborn generation. We are already industrious abs such example is Apostle Kwadwo Sarfo of Kantanka Automobile, Petronia City, etc... Thank you. Nana Kwadwo Marfo Jr. +233 207758211
