The Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Lawyer Nana Obiri Boahen, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP) over what he describes as a shoddy work done by the police in their investigation of cars belonging to the National Organizer of the opposition NDC, Kofi Adams.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID), of the Police Service on Thursday released two Toyota Landcruisers and three pickup vehicles to Mr Adams claiming their investigation had established the cars did not belong to the state.
Some NPP youth and personnel from National Security seized the cars from the Tema residence of Mr Adams at a time he was abroad and drove the vehicles to the Flagstaff House on the basis that they suspected the cars were state owned.
But Nana Obiri Boahen has stated that the CID erred by concluding its investigation without taking statements from the persons who seized the cars in the first place, saying the police did a poor job.
“At what point in time did they do the investigations and then they drew the conclusion and arrived at the final position that the vehicles be released to Kofi Adams without taking statements of those who went in for the vehicles, without giving them the opportunity to present their side of the case. What kind of shoddy work is that?”
He’s hopes to get the full report of the investigation by the CID after he has petitioned the IGP over the matter.
“I don’t want to wage war in the media, I have written to the Inpsector General of Police, I’ll get the full report and I’ll respond appropriately.”

Dis gimifu still has da mouth to ta lk. i wonder why kofi has not sue dis APONCHI Lawyer.GIMIFU LIKE DAT.
Where did this senseless, Blocked headed lawyer did his law course? He spews rots anytime he thinks his belly is full of smelling garbage. Arrogance of the highest order where an unrefined person challenging the integrity of a state institution like the CID. Prez NANA ADDO should put breaks on this senseless man of a lawyer, otherwise he would bring the image of the government into the gutters.
You don't understand the issue here. Everybody is saying Kofi Adams owns the vehicles, but some of the vehicles are only in his custody. He keeps them for the real owners. The investigation was to establish whether the vehicles were properly acquired or otherwise, and the police have investigated and established they are not state properties. Why still hullabaloo.
Obiri, your petition is dead on arrival. Do you think the police who you claim have done shoddy work would give you audience. In first place, you have impugned their integrity, so do expect them to address your issue perfectly, you must be kidding.
Does the NDC now believe in property owning democracy? If a village teacher will join a ruling govt and buy 5 very expensive cars within a year without disclosing his source of income, who are u to tell me that this is not corruption? Yet they say they are social democrats!
Rich, you are a big moron. If you have five cars in your custody all of which have its documents intact, does it mean because you are teacher you can't keep cars belonging to friends and family. Anyway, who tell you a teacher cannot buy five cars. Go to the universities and see the cars the lecturers change on daily basis. You are very ***barred word***.
A what point should ttthieves who have stolen someone's cars need to be glorified in an investigation to establish who the cars belong to. If you into a person's house to ssteals, the most is for you to be arrested and prosecuted not to be asked questions. Questions to do what? All the CID needed in this investigation are documents on the vehicle and cross checking with the dvla. What would to robbers say, that they went and rob someone of his vehicles.
