Kennedy Agyapong, Assin Central Member of Parliament has described the National Security Minister, Albert Kan-Dapaah as a ‘disaster’.
He said if he had helped members of the Delta Force when they went to him, this issue (storming court) would not have escalated.
Kennedy Agyapong was speaking to the incident that occurred at the Kumasi Circuit Court, Thursday in an interview on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma', Friday.
Some members of the Delta Force; a Pro-NPP vigilante group stormed the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit Court to free 13 of their colleagues who had been arraigned for forcibly throwing the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator out of office last month.
Even though the Assin Central MP has condemned their actions, he believes if they had not been arrested and was just asked to apologise as he had earlier advised, “the situation will not have got to this level.”
“What they have done is disgraceful and I condemn them outrightly, but Kan-Dapaah is a disaster . . . National security is a disaster . . . The guys still see some NDC people at post while they are not working. They didn’t do well but there is undercurrent . . . when they went for help from him he (Kan- Dapaah) told them he has stopped doing those things."
"I have said it, if he likes he should come and arrest me. I am ready for them; I have a lot of issues and if they don’t take care I will bring the party down . . . I only have respect for Nana Akufo-Addo. Threatening that you will arrest me; come and arrest me; I am waiting for you. I fought NDC so I am not afraid of NPP. Where was Kan Dapaah when I was spending on the party? I am not supporting what they (Delta Force) did but if NPP are accusing me of being the mastermind, I am ready for them. If they had listened to me, it would not have gotten to this level,” he said.
The maverick Assin Central Member of Parliament, Mr Kennedy Agyapong, who had earlier defended the riotous activities of the Delta Force, a political vigilante group aligned to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has made a U-turn and condemned the group.
In a disclaimer on Thursday night on Oman FM, Mr Agyapong admitted that the action of Delta Force in storming the court on Thursday to free accused persons was “disgraceful”.
Some members of the group stormed the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) Circuit Court to free 13 of their colleagues who had been arraigned for forcibly throwing the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator out of office last month.
They ‘invaded’ the court shortly after the presiding judge, Mrs Mary Nsenkyire, had remanded the 13 into prison custody to reappear on April 20, 2017.
Immediately word went out that the 13 had been remanded, some supporters of the accused who were outside the courtroom attempted to find their way into the courtroom but they were prevented from doing so by the police.

Kan dapaah is not good for the this job...he is too weak.look at how he handled Kofi Adams issue.now John dumelo is freely moving around even though he was seen with a stolen car....nana addo wake up !!
The way npp are behaving, its clear they are thinking about staying power instead of working for Ghanaians. If not wontumi and Ken agyepong would have been arrested for their display of nun sense. Nana addo is so quite and this confirms the idea that he loves violence.
This Ken guy is an embarrassment! He is openly disrespecting Akuffo Addo by his utterances. Fine, he an ultra rich man who made his money by selling PK on the streets and driving taxis in America but he is not more Ghanaian than any one of us. The NPP won because the 10-15% floating voters decided to vote for Nana Addo not just the core NPP supporters so he should sh.ut up. I am NPP and I am very worried about what is going on. Why don't we use this energies to support Nana Addo's agenda? instead of these unnecessary distractions? NDC/NPP/PPP/ZZZZ or whatever our party affiliation, aren't we all Ghanaians with a common destiny? Why don't we love and support each other for the benefit of our children and stop this unnecessary hatred?
Ken I think sometimes wo so wo duebo dodo. You talk too much. What was the essence of banging table tops last time threatening and daring anyone to send the guys to court. You're condemning what they did at the court what's the difference with what you applauded them on. I quote you "I swear lu gad (I swear to god)you mess up big time. Used a small 'g' because the GOD I know doesn't like what you do so you cannot swear to HIM. You need to slow down a bit. I am very ashamed of NPP,the Party I sympathize with. Hmmm. You will bring NPP down and all. Ken wo ye hwan?
Eii Kennedy Agyepong and His NPP. Must every NDC member or supervisor working for a government agency be sacked because NPP is in power? Why should this happen? What knowledge do the members of the Delta Force have that qualifies them to work for BNI or National Security. I am extremely sad to hear Kennedy Agyepong talk like this. It means that their interest is to sack every NDC sympathizer, whether appointed through the Civil Service or politically appointed. Asem beba da bi.
SO CALL MR KAN DAPAAH. NOT FIT,HE SHOULD LIVE HIS NATIONAL SECURITY POST.
Massa; for me the 'Buck stops' with Nana Addo !!!!!!NO KIDDING !!!!! ; the man is so full of himself and thinks it is christmas thus doling out positions to 110 ministers with a large percentage duplication of assignments ; how do you appoint an accountant Kan Dapaah as the National Security Minister ; the man has no experience of security operations and typical of Nana Addo 'his head de sweet am' the man behaves like 'Dada BA' his head full of perfumed grass so much that the arrogant full think appointing people who gave money to the NPP will solve the problems of these arrogant full call the delta force and invicible forces ; look at the disgrace these vigilante boys are causing to the nation and the rule of law in Ghana ; we are today a laughing stock and a banana state and Nana Addo claims to be the leader ; WHAT A SHAME !!!!!! ; the man is not fit to lead Ghana ;we all disappointed ; he is being controlled by no less a person of Ken Agyepong and Bosaiako or Wontumi -WHY ?; we know you are not corrupt but we did not know Nana Addo was so weak in governance and chasing women ; NANA ADDO COME ON AND SIT STRAIGHT and do not allow these illiterate ***barred word*** like Ken Agyepong take over Ghana b ecause they claim to be rich otherwise Ghana will one day become a battle foeld under your watch ; IT IS SAD !!!!!!; the man became President because his father was a president butr has clue what governance entails ; HOW COULD APPOINT OVER 110 ministers and think you can control them from the centre impossible ; KAN Dapaah should be removed NOW !!!!!; how could you apologise to Kofi Adams who records show he stole state vehicles by buying them on the cheap '; WHO IS KOFI ADAMS !!!!!!; the trouble is it is not even 100days yet and look the appaling scenes today .
Ken Agyapong talk too much. I blame him for all this God Bless Ghana and Nana Addo
AND WE CALL HIM.....HONOURABLE?OMG
'As3m yi dika'. First blunder of Ken Dapaa was when he apologize to Kofi Adams when he phone from Dubai to complain about his seized cars. Instead of telling Kofi Adams to give him at least 24 hours to investigate, Ken Dapaa apologized, and gave Kofi Adams the upper hand.Secondly, about the security officer beaten at the Flagstaff House. The respond was a disaster, and this is even worse. If he has taken the time to address the concern of this people, we wouldn't have been here. KEN DAPAA SHOULD BE FIRED. Simple
