Ghana is marking 61 years of nationhood today, 6 March 2018.
Dr Kwame Nkrumah led the country to gain independence from Britain on this day in 1957.
As has been the tradition over the years, there will be a march past of schoolchildren, security services and the unions at the Independence Square.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to address the nation. Former presidents and their spouses, Ministers of State, parliamentarians, Members of the Council of State, members of the diplomatic corps, traditional rulers and a host of others are expected to grace the occasion.
President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria will attend the independence anniversary celebration event as the special guest of honour.
