The Progressive People's Party [PPP] is yet to schedule a date and venue for a thanksgiving service following the removal from office of Madam Charlotte Osei as the Electoral Commission boss and her two deputies..
According to the party’s National Youth Organizer, Divine Nkrumah, the President’s decision to remove the commissioner from her post is laudable.
“We [PPP] weren’t surprise by the news because she did not play her role well as EC boss. We will organize a thanksgiving service for this. We’ll announce the venue and time to the public soon,” Divine Nkrumah noted on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’.
Madam Charlotte Osei and her two deputies, Amadu Sulley and Georgina Opoku Amankwaa have been removed from office following a recommendation by the committee constituted by the Chief Justice, Sophia Akuffo which probed allegations leveled against them.
According to a government statement issued and signed by Information Minister, Dr. Mustapha Hamid, the three top officials of the country's election management body have been removed for misbehaviour and incompetence.
