The Asogli Traditional Council, made up of 33 traditional areas in the Volta region on Wednesday declared Mr Freddie Blay, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Chairman “unwanted" in the Region, especially in the Traditional Council.
This follows Mr Blay's alleged failure to apologise after he reportedly slighted Togbe Afede XIV, President of the Asogli Traditional Council and the National House of Chiefs.
The Traditional Council, at a News conference addressed by Togbe Koku Ayim V, Paramount Chief of Ziavi, described the conduct of Mr Blay as "gross misbehaviour," and that the Council could not guarantee his safety in the region.
He said Mr Blay had "unfairly misjudged, unjustifiably employed misguided statements and intentionally insulted the integrity and personality of Togbe Afede," though he married from the Traditional Council.
Togbe Ayim said the "insults are indirect attacks on chiefs of Eweland," particularly when calls by recognised bodies for apology went unheeded.
The Council said it was not aware of any apology by Mr Blay to Togbe Afede and Asogli Chiefs in the media and that no such apology was in their records, saying, his working relationship with the Council had been "tainted".

At some point, we should really seriously consider scrapping this whole chieftaincy thing. What benefit is it to our nation of carrying one ordinary man in a palanquin and making a demigod out of a mere mortal? Most of the land litigation issues we are having as country is due to this chieftaincy institution. I have heard Kwesi Pratt on radio harshly criticizing a very prominent chief in Ghana. Even recent Stan Dogbe viciously attacked the Okyehene about PK's death. But the Okyehene CANNOT ban Stan from the eastern region because he doesnt have the powers to do that. Afede has the freedom to move any where he wants to go in Ghana and he should take that freedom away from Blay.
Ashanti, frafra, Dagomba, fanti etc we all one people! one Ghana, One destiny. If we want to develop we should be above this unnecessary tribalism. That being said Nana Afede CANNOT ban any Ghanaian citizen from the Volta region. Why? you criticized the Blay as a private citizen about the bus issue and he defended himself? So you mean people cannot respond when you attack them? Aside your chieftaincy title are you more human than Freddie Blay? Charlie don't do that koraa. In any case you don't have jurisdiction over the whole Volta region, there are other paramount chiefs who have their own jurisdictions in the same region so how can you ban him? Can the Yaa Naa ban someone from Gonja land when it is outside his jurisdiction?
Afede does not have such powers! He is a chief of Ho and does not control the volta region! He is such a power drunk individual. He can issue such orders in his backyard but does not have the power to bar anybody from entering the volta region. He is a joke
If you are a politician and you don't learn the geography of cultural anthropology, you will surely find yourself in this shameful behaviour. How can you describe Togbe a Pimewine tapper. Is your brain working. Are you serious. If you are a serious politician, can you describe Ashanti hene as a pimewine tapper. Those guys running the tribal issue should continue. Ewes are principled by nature. we will not attack but when you mess up with us, then you will see the other side of us.
I disagree with the Togbe for personalizing the issue and trying to fun ethnicity into the entire incident. They must be careful of how the council handle the issue.
Dangerous precedent. Politics in Ghana is full of insults. Don't set this precedence that don't come to my region. Very soon, it will be dangerous, ok?
Imagine if the Asanteman Council was to say that to an NDC Chairman under the same circumstances! Avuu koklo!
DO WE REALLY NEED CHIEFTAINCY IN GHANA TO DEVELOP? I HAVE A FEELING THAT CHIEFTAINCY IS A BANE O OUR DEVELOPMENT. TOO MUCH PROMINENCE IS BEING GIVEN TO CHIEFTAINCY ISSUES IN GHANA AND THAT SEEMS TO BE MARRING OUR DEMOCRACY. EVEN IN UK WHERE THE KING OR QUEEN WAS GIVEN SO MUCH PROMINENCE THIS HAS REDUCED DRASTICALLY AND THE QUEEN (ELIZABETH)IS NOT CONSIDERED SO MUCH IN UK'S DEMOCRACY AS OF LATE. IN GHANA THE CHIEFTAINCY SYNDROME IS OVERLAPPING THE IMPORTANCE OF EVEN A DFEMOCRATICALLY ELECTECTED PRESIDENT. WHY SHOULD IT BE SO? FOR ME I AM ACTUALLY TIRED OF THEIR ROLE IN POLITICS AND MUST END SOONER THAN LATER.

LOOK AT THIS FOOLLLSSS DO YOU THINK GHANA IS FOR YOU? MR BLAY THIS FOOOLLLLSS WANTS CAT MEAT.
