The General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia; popularly known as General Mosquito has declared his intention to seek re-election in the upcoming NDC's National Executives polls.
However, the Central Regional Chairman of the party, Bernard Allotey Jacobs says he should rescind his decision because his era is passed.
According to the 'educated fisherman' as he is popularly called, it is time for fresh and young blood to come in.
During a panel discussion on Peace FM's morning show 'Kokrokoo', he singled out Sylvester Mensah who is contesting for the flagbearership position of the party.
"The best position for Sly is NDC General Secretary" and not flagbearer he said, adding "the era of Asiedu Nketia is gone; we need new faces".
Meanwhile, Yaw Boateng Gyan who is vying for the position of National Organiser, sharply disagreed with Allotey Jacobs.
Speaking on the same platform, he said the "young ones with their youthful exuberance; most often don't get the work done well; leaving things to go bad...the old ones use their experience to make things work efficiently"
