Spokesperson on Finance and Economy, Daniel Okyem Aboagye has urged leaders in the country to develop the spirit of servanthood.
Mr. Okyem Aboagye, who doubles as a Member of Parliament for Bantama constituency, reminded his colleague officials and appointees that the mandate given them by Ghanaians by virtue of their votes is to serve the people and ensure development in the various sectors of the economy.
Ghana celebrated her 62nd independence on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Tamale in the Northern Region.
This is the first time the country's Independence Day had been moved from the capital city to a new Region and it was made in fulfillment of President Nana Akufo-Addo's promise to the people after installing a new Ya-Naa (an Overlord) for them.
The President used the occasion to foster unity among the people after many years of instability in the Region.
Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' programme on the 62nd Independence Day held at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale, Mr. Okyem Aboagye advised the leaders of the nation saying "we're servants, of course servant leaders. We should not forget our mandate . . . We know that we have to do right by the people because the government is on the people and for the people".
