The Ministry of Education says the community day senior high schools begun under the erstwhile John Dramani Mahama administration have not been abandoned as alleged.
In a statement dated Wednesday, August 28, the Ministry said 25 have been completed so far since the Akufo-Addo-led government took office in January, 2017. According to the statement, 14 were completed single-handedly by the government while 11 were sponsored by the World Bank through the Secondary Education Improvement Project (SEIP).
This is in response to allegations made by former president John Dramani Mahama that the schools have been abandoned. “It appears former President Mahama has been ill-briefed on this matter, and the Ministry wishes to clarify as follows.”
