Ghanaian actress Madama Matilda Asare has taken a swipe at former President John Mahama for failing to build an ultramodern warehouse at Bole to benefit farmers in his own hometown.
According to the actress, whilst former President John Mahama and the NDC "continue their propaganda to make the current administration look unpopular in the eyes of Ghanaians, it is instructive to note that lots of development projects are currently ongoing in his own backyard at Bole, in the Savannah Region."
She maintained that "though the former President is desperately engaging in fruitless efforts to run down the current administration in his bid to return to power, his own people are elated about the positive developments ongoing in their area, particularly under the agricultural sector."
The Bole District, for the first time, will enjoy an ultramodern warehouse under the government's One District, One Warehouse policy.
In an interview with Peacefmonline.com, Madam Asare noted that "The district, which plays host to the former President, who has launched what many describe as a 'Mission Impossible' to recapture power, is also a major benefiary of the Planting for Food and Jobs programme."
She continueď that the 1000 capacity warehouse is meant to provide farmers and beneficiaries of government's flagship Planting for Food and Jobs programme, a decent place for storage of grains and cereals after harvest.
The actress revealed that the structure, fitted with all the modern logistics required to ensure safe and healthy storage of food products, is ready to be handed over to the regional office of the National Food Buffer Stock Company for use.
The Minister for Food and Agriculture, Hon. Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, who recently visited the facility as part of his working tour to the five northern regions, said the facility would amongst other things, boost agricultural activities in the area.
He said the major reason for the introduction of the One District One Warehouse was to resolve the perennial problem of post-harvest losses and to provide farmers with a guaranteed market all year round.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto further noted that with the Ghana Commodity Exchange programme in full operation, farmers can now be assured of good prices for their produce.
He promised that the Ministry will in the coming weeks, hand over the facility to NAFCO for their operations.

But this woman paaa... I'm surprised oh... Someone built hospitals, chip compounds, schools, a house project of which all these things can generate revenue for the nation and creat employment. Even that you say he hasn't done anything yet you are singing the praise of someone building a warehouse, really? A warehouse? What does it take to construct a warehouse and what are you going to keep in it? Even under this planting for food, Ghana went to borrow grains from the ecowas warehouse whiles during mahama time he was sending grains there which he didn't make any noise about... My friend come again.
THIS LADY LACKS COMMONSENSE AND IS SO ***barred word*** AND IDIOTIC. IF SHE DOES NOT KNOW, JOHN MAHAMA PROVIDED PORTABLE WATER FOR NANA AKUFO ADDO AND HIS PEOPLE IN KYIBE. NPP WAS IN POWER FOR 8 YEARS AND NANA AKUFO BEING A PARLIAMENTARIAN FOR MORE THAN TWO TERMS YET THE PEOPLE OF KYIBE AND ANIMALS WERE COMPETING FOR DRINKING WATER IN STREAMS AND VALLEYS.
