Lower Manya Krobo Member of Parliament (MP), Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi has described as waste of state resources the introduction of an office in charge of government supporting young entrepreneur businesses.
"Formation of an office purposely to support young entrepreneurs as Presidential Business Support Programme is just a duplication of government Ministry and waste of state resources," he vividly said.
Speaking on UTV's 'Adekye Nsroma' political panel discussion programme, he strongly agitated that government disbursing money for young and up-coming entrepreneurs is not any new thing to be done in Ghana.
" . . There is no need allocating a Ministry for such a project which has been in existence all the years of the nation and merged with other ministries who does almost the same thing to save money and time," he said.
According to him, members of the ruling NPP government speak on authority everywhere they find themselves as if they have their own Ghana and it is their efforts alone that have brought the nation this far.
"Indeed, they (NPP members) have cultivated a habit of finding ways and means to credit themselves on every laudable project even with ones started by the previous government," he stated.
The Presidential Business Support Programme (PBSP) is an initiative of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Plan (NEIP) under the Ministry of Business Development. It is aimed at assisting Ghanaian businesses with Business Advisory Services and funding to scale up and to create jobs.
