Majority Leader of Parliament Osei Kyei Mensa Bonsu says he has tried his best to desist from making campaign promises on political platforms over the years – something he said has helped him a lot.
According to him, the role of a Member of Parliament [MP] is not to make promises that can not be fulfilled – rather, the MP must lobby for developmental projects for the constituency.
“I don’t tell them I am going to construct roads for them because I know that competence I don’t have,” he said on TV3’s Hot Issues on Saturday.
While admitting that Suame does not have the best of roads currently, the seasoned politician said he is doing his best to get the government’s attention as infrastructure development has been an area the New Patriotic Party [NPP] government needs to improve upon.
Osei Kyei-Mensa-Bonsu is going for a final term in Parliament as he gives word that the 2020 elections will be his last, hopefully.
