The Minority in Parliament on Thursday dramatically boycotted this year’s State Of The Nation Address [SONA] without giving any ‘tangible’ reason.
Peace FM’s parliamentary correspondent, Mr Emmanuel Akorli reports that the Minority staged the walked out moments after the president, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo entered the chamber to give his address.
Oppressors Rule, Away, All For You!
They moved out repeating a part of the anthem that says "and help us to resist oppressors rule with all our will and might forever more".
Ironically, Members of the Majority side sent off their colleagues with chants of 'away' as well as 'bye bye'.
With the Minority having boycotted the House, the Majority then changes the song. In an elated mood, they tell the president they are all for him as they sing "all for you, Nana all for you," a rendition of highlife legend ET Mensah's song.
No Vacant Seat
As if that was not amusing enough, some members of the Majority then went over to fill up the seats vacated by the Minority caucus.
Black Attire
Earlier, the Minority had indicated their resolve to don “black attires” to express the ‘real state of the nation’.
Former Energy Minister and MP for Ellembelle, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, told OkayFM that "members of the minority will all be in a black attire".
"The Minority (in Parliament) has the people of Ghana at heart and we represent their interest and so we are telling the president with our black attire that the people of Ghana are not interested in his kind of government and leadership," he stated..
Common Fund Wahala
Snippets of information gathered indicates that Minority staged the walk-out over the delay of their share of the Common Fund for the Third Quarter of 2019.
They contend its a deliberate attempt to deprive them of working effectively and competing fairly with their opponents, especially with the General Elections barely 10months away.

It only why you do not know what you are about and totally confused that you act before you think of finding the reason for your action.
Haa have you people forgotten now? NPP too did some time ago to Mahamma when he was the sitting president
bunch of ***barred word*** calling themselves members of parliament, aaaah!!!!
So what effect will this have on the economy or on the general elections? It is rather a sign of immaturity. Again their walkout made it possible for us to hear clearly what the president had to say. We gladly welcome their attitude in parliament. They should never come back.....bye bye bye!
Concert
Th NDC parliamentarians who walked out are disgrace to Ghana politics. See their faces, Sampson Ahi,
THE MINORITY HAS LOST THE DEBATE. FOR DAYS THEY THREATHENED TO BOYCOTT BECAUSE OF THE NONPAYMENY OF COMMON FUND. BUT WHAT DID WE SEE LEFT BEHIND WHEN THEY LEFT THEIR SEATS. THE LEAFLETS OR PLACARDS LEFT BEHIND SAID "IF YOU DONT LISTEN TO US ON THE VOTER REGISTER, WE WONT LISTEN TO YOU" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH THIS IS CHEAT AND CHILDISH
I would urge the people of Tamale where HAruna Iddisu represents to vote against him because he called for hie people to walk out. You cannot vote for an irresponsible person whom you voted for to represent your interest in parliament
and during the National Anthem? not! not!! not!!! and they call themselves patriotic! disgraceful.
see them ***barred word*** are they are they can walk out as many as they want
