The Minority in Parliament on Thursday dramatically boycotted this year’s State Of The Nation Address [SONA] without giving any ‘tangible’ reason.
Peace FM’s parliamentary correspondent, Mr Emmanuel Akorli reports that the Minority staged the walked out moments after the president, His Excellency Nana Akufo-Addo entered the chamber to give his address.
Oppressors Rule, Away, All For You!
They moved out repeating a part of the anthem that says "and help us to resist oppressors rule with all our will and might forever more".
Ironically, Members of the Majority side sent off their colleagues with chants of 'away' as well as 'bye bye'.
With the Minority having boycotted the House, the Majority then changes the song. In an elated mood, they tell the president they are all for him as they sing "all for you, Nana all for you," a rendition of highlife legend ET Mensah's song.
No Vacant Seat
As if that was not amusing enough, some members of the Majority then went over to fill up the seats vacated by the Minority caucus.
Black Attire
Earlier, the Minority had indicated their resolve to don “black attires” to express the ‘real state of the nation’.
Former Energy Minister and MP for Ellembelle, Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Armah Buah, told OkayFM that "members of the minority will all be in a black attire".
"The Minority (in Parliament) has the people of Ghana at heart and we represent their interest and so we are telling the president with our black attire that the people of Ghana are not interested in his kind of government and leadership," he stated..
Common Fund Wahala
Snippets of information gathered indicates that Minority staged the walk-out over the delay of their share of the Common Fund for the Third Quarter of 2019.
They contend its a deliberate attempt to deprive them of working effectively and competing fairly with their opponents, especially with the General Elections barely 10months away.

So what is the status of the double salary issue? anokwa
The Ndc members of Parliament have shown that they are matured and on top of issues bordering Ghanaians.
That is good. Don't listen to pretenders. And the children of Israel cry to God by the virtue of their hard handed cruel task masters and the LORD hear and answered their cried. And the LORD show their cruel masters and Satan a red card.
Oh look at their miserable faces as they walk out of Parliament and how would all love to experience this kind of peace in our August house.
Parliament is so peaceful and orderly without these minority rascals. I wish they do not even return to the house again.
they will come for our vote, the coming election and we will vote for them. surely because blood has stop flowing in our mind.
Ah Ghana !!!! What is happening Should we consider these MPs normal human beings? A wasteful bunch of NDC gang of t-h-i-e-v-e-s
Parliament is a much better place without these double salary NDC thi.e.ves.... They should never return to the House.
Then they will come seeking our votes. Nansins!
