Parliament on Thursday adopted a motion for the House to constitute an ad hoc committee, to be chaired by Deputy Majority Leader Sarah Adwoa Safo to recommend to the House the appointment of an auditor to audit the accounts of the Office of the Auditor-General.
Members of the committee would be Public Accounts Committee Chairman James Klutse Avedzi, who is also the Deputy Minority Leader and MP for Ketu North Constituency; and Mr Kofi Okyere-Agyekum, MP for Fanteakwa South Constituency.
The motion, moved by Mr Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, MP for Asante-Akim Central Constituency, was seconded by Alhaji Mohamed Mubarak Muntaka, Minority Chief Whip and MP for Asawase Constituency.
Article (187) (15) states that: "The accounts of the Office of the Auditor-General shall be audited and be reported upon by an auditor appointed by Parliament.”
Seconding the motion, Alhaji Muntaka commended the members, who he said, have been members of the committee, for having worked and doing a good job on behalf of the House, over the years.

We do not respect you anymore because you are more than GREEDY WOMAN. Adwoa Safowaa, you are not a poor woman. You father is a respected and rich father. You former husband Kennedy Agyapong is a MAN OF JUSTICE and rich. You are a lawyer by profession who knows the law of the land and also holding top position in the country. But why do you go for GuestFund. For what. You are a Disgrace Woman and better resign.
Nothing in your coconut.
What parliament is doing is constitutional. I see no reason why people want us to believe otherwise. If the AG has nothing to hide, why this reaction from sympathisers?
Someone may ask how does this has anything to do with the npp government? But I say it has everything to do with the government, of course they have majority in parliament. Since the party came to power, anything regarding corruption or mismanagement or misdemeanor, they have set a lopsided committee to clear themselves and claim the issues are investigated. This is a clear case of conflict of interest because the AG had audited getfund and her name had cropped up. How couldn't the speaker and rest of parliamentary leadership not realize this anomaly. Adjoa safo should recuse herself.
Seriously, the parliament of Ghana is detached from the reality of the people they seek to make laws for. The three comments here should be enough for any serious parliamentarian to reconsider their actions/behaviour in parliament. A WORD TO THE WISE IS.....
Ghana is a nation of comedians, especially our politicians. How on earth will someone as corrupt as adjoa safo be made a chair of an adhoc committee to recommend that the auditor general be also audited? The name of adjoa safo was mentioned in the GETFUND scandal which was spearheaded by the auditor general, so how can someone like this be part of this committee. Are there no other brains in parliament who could have done this job? The girl must bring the 29000 dollars getfund money for the poor she corruptly went for. This nation should be serious for once.
Another attempt to intimidate the AG
When did Parliament realized that Article 187(15) exist and all this while they have failed to appoint same save that now some of these MPs were being exposed by the A-G. You failed all Ghanaians.
