NDC’s National Communications Director, Sammy Gyamfi has expressed disappointment in the government for not restricting citizens from fleeing to other regions exempted from the lock-down.
He said although President Akufo-Addo issued the directive early enough for people to adequately prepare themselves, traveling to other regions should also have been banned.
“After issuing the directive on Friday to enable citizens to prepare, you shouldn’t have allowed others to travel. Crowds were packed at various bus stations. They left Accra, Kumasi to Takoradi, Eastern region and Central, Northern. Now they are going to spread it,” he established
In an interview with NeatFM, Sammy Gyamfi said the lock-down is ideal but might not be successful. “It is a good idea. We were all waiting for that to happen but from the look of things enforcement will be a problem,” he stated.
He advised that people who troop in from Accra, Kumasi to other exempted regions should engage in self-quarantine.
However, the government has called for strict observation of social distance from people who have fled regions affected by the lock-down.
Residents have also been asked to report persons with suspected symptoms to the appropriate quarters for immediate attention.

The same Sammy Gyamfi said about three weeks ago that the prsident should have used the 100 million dollas to build more qurrantine in all the region . He said has observed that more people will come to Ghana in the next few days. In the next two days the president announce the closir of the boarder and the same night Air France and KLM arived this people but God be on our side the Government has already book all the Hotels around the airport and Quarrantine them. Sammy was shock because they plotted with NDC team in Eroupe to bring this people. Now they round and the president should us LOCKDOWN. What can of people are they leaving in GHANA NDC will colapse if care is not taken.
this man never talks without finding fault, what could your deserted boss have done.ask akua donkor's opinion about your boss
Irrelevant party....such a ***barred word*** party called NDC, As for this sammy or whatever he calls himself should not be allowed to talk in any of the radio stations. I remember NDC saying we should go for the Ghanaians in China...like by now we're all dead. Ghanaians are fed up with NDc
Thinking like Donald Trump. Very myopic.
Sammy Gyamfi, can you explain how government could block people travelling from Accra and Kumasi? This cannot be done and he knows it but wanted government to use scare resources to engage in stopping people. What sort of person is this guy? I struggle to understand him
Honestly, I blame the media that always allow this stupppiid fuouol of a communication director to spew n....onsen..se around..
These corrupt and vision11ess NDC people will criticise everything the government does. NDC is becoming irrelevant. We are very lucky as a country you NDC guys are not in power during this crisis. You guys will do nothing and allow all of us to die.
Please ooo. So if I live in kumasi, but have travelled to Accra for some business deals living in a hotel. So based on what my secretary is saying, I should have been locked in Accra but not allowed to go back to kumasi. Will he be paying my hotel bills, feeding and providing for my family back in kumasi? Please can someone tell this boy he talks too much and by that it does not allow him to make reasonable discussions. Please, it is not everything that he should comment about.
Sammy, you mean the security forces could be used to block all exit out of Kumasi or Accra? Would you not have cried foul and describe it as an attempt to rig next elections? Explain please!
These inccomptent NDC would have blamed the Gov’t if they had restricted anyone. To the NDC nagging is a virtue
