Freelance investigative journalist, Manasseh Azure Awuni says providing him free water supply won't influence his vote as his convictions have nothing to do with President Nana Akufo-Addo's directive for water bills to be absorbed by government for the next three months.
According to him, even if the government supplies water for four years, he remains resolute on his principles for voting for a particular candidate.
"My water bill is a fraction of what I spend on data every month. So if you provide free water for me for the four years, it will not influence my vote. I have my priority areas when it comes to good governance and what will inform my voting decision'', he stated.
He sent a strong message to his critics who think he will "sell'' his vote because of the President's intervention stressing he has "a decent job and I have never had the problem of paying my water bills...But it will be wrong on my part to assume that everyone is like me. So let's allow those who will be swayed by the three-month free water to express their joy and their political loyalty. In the same way, let's allow those who think this cannot undo whatever bad governance (real or perceived) that they have been subjected to under this government to express themselves''.
Manasseh Azure, in a Facebook post, however commended President Akufo-Addo .
"The President's decision to provide free water for the next three months (with our tax) is a good idea. It's commendable because it will help a lot of people in these difficult times.''

THE FREE WATER POLITICS AND WHY OTHERS MUST NOT SHUT UP
The President's decision to provide free water for the next three months (with our tax) is a good idea. It's commendable because it will help a lot of people in these difficult times.
There's, however, one thing I want to point out to those who are politicising it and hurling insults at those who do not think it's a strong political weapon.
By the grace of God, I have a decent job and I have never had the problem of paying my water bills. My main problem has been that the pipeline to my house is dry most of the time.
My water bill is a fraction of what I spend on data every month. So if you provide free water for me for the four years, it will not influence my vote. I have my priority areas when it comes to good governance and what will inform my voting decision.
But it will be wrong on my part to assume that everyone is like me. So let's allow those who will be swayed by the three-month free water to express their joy and their political loyalty. In the same way, let's allow those who think this cannot undo whatever bad governance (real or perceived) that they have been subjected to under this government to express themselves.
To try to shut others up because they are not on the bandwagon of praise singing is wrong. It's undemocratic. And it infringes on their right to free speech and free expression.

Your vote is insignificant and not needed. If an educated person refuses to think and do what is right based on your parochial interests and hatred, then you choose to belong to the uneducated folks. Even they use their gumption and do what is right.
A ***barred word*** journalist, who strives for falsehood to create sensationalism und when he hits against the rock, in the process, he becomes very scornful and spiteful. Then he finds himself in the situation like, his trademark and credibility, which he doesn't have anyway, is being challenged. I only admire his command of the English language but he has a huge deficit in exhibiting informed political discourse, criticism and authenticity. He has a huge problem with the NPP-Administration because he encounters a massive defense against the falsehood which he feeds on for his sensational and exaggerated stories. So he has a big score to settle with the Nana-Administration which he so much regrets to have voted for.
.....and who asked you it should influence your vote? Did the president say providing free water for 3 months should influence how people vote? Some of these so called journalists need to think before they put pen on paper.
Mmma Bia,your vote is supposed to be secret. Now you have indicated you are a card bearing member of a certain political party. It could be CPP,PPP,NDC OR NDP. Where was your one single lean vote when NDC lost the elction by a whopping one million votes. Keep your lean single vote.It is never going to make any impact. It is surely going to be wasted.Wasted i mean wasted. Northern ,upper East and West are majority NDC.Even Liman haS BEEN DUMPED LONG TIME FOR THE EWES.NDC is Ayigbe partey. Are you ayigbe?
I use to think you are an objective person but your angle in this crisis disappoints me courtesy your uninspiring write up. Not sure to read any of your stuff again. The overwhelming disapproval by many on this reckless write up should make you know your relevance is in the trashcan.

How does “coming here to write a comment” , make me a hypocrite? You should be asking yourself that question. You are the BIGGEST one and I’m sure you are Manasseh himself. Today is your day of shaaaaame!
The writing in the Tee shirt is an apt description of him. Nana doesn't need your vote.
