Former First National Vice-chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita Desoso has described as “unfortunate” some persons tagged as non Ghanaians and barred from registering by the security forces in the just ended voters’ registration exercise.
“The claims that some foreigners wanted to register in favour of the NDC was unfortunate. It created unnecessary pressure and marred the beauty of the registration,” she said.
According to her, many of those who were vetoed from registration exercise are Ghanaians with different nationality parents – this she said qualifies them to be Ghanaians.
“I am very sure that Nana Addo [President] who has children in Nigeria would have registered if they were in the country,” she said in an interview with NEAT FM’s morning show Ghana Montie.
