Chief Executive Officer of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea, has laughed off the impersonation claims by the Minority in Parliament involving the Dome-Kwabenya MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Recently Dome/Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo became the most talked about Parliamentarian following the Majority's approval of the 2022 budget which happened in the absence of the Minority.
The Majority, by 138 representation in a quorum, voted for the budget after quashing the Minority's rejection of it.
The Minority, after the budget approval, accused the Majority of impersonating the Dome-Kwabenya MP doubting she was the one in Parliament during the voting.
North Tongu MP, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, in an interview on Joy FM, indicated that the Minority was probing the case that occurred on Tuesday, November 30, 2021.
“Following pictures and videos we are reviewing this morning, it is becoming quite apparent to us that there may be a case of impersonation with regards to the lady who was presented as Adwoa Safo. It’s beginning to appear that she may not be Adwoa Safo,” Okudzeto Ablakwa said.
Meanwhile, Adwoa Safo has dismissed the claims and according to her, there is no case of impersonation.
“Mr Speaker, I was present in this house yesterday,” she said on the floor of Parliament on Wednesday.
However, Asawase Member of Parliament and Minority Chief Whip, Muntaka Mubarak has taken Adwoa Safo's submissions with a pinch of salt.
“Very soon we will know whether Adwoa Safo was in the chamber yesterday,” he replied her.
Addressing the issue on Peace FM's ''Kokrokoo'', Nana Akomea has challenged the Minority to substantiate their claims that the Majority presented an impersonator.
Like to quote the popular phrase ''he who alleges must prove'', the STC Boss said; ''The person is in mask and you claim that's not her. Our sister confirmed she was the one in Parliament, so you that saying she wasn't in Parliament, prove it.''
