The National Women's Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mad. Kate Gyamfuaa, has appointed Mrs Beatrice Owusu, popularly known as 'Aunty B' as the coordinator responsible for former and defeated women organizers of the party.
Aunty Bee, who is a former Constituency Women's Organizer will be responsible for organizing all former women organizers, as well as those who have contested the position before and could not win.
These contestants and former women organizers are expected to play a key role, bringing their knowledge and organizational skills acquired at the constituency, regional and national levels, to bear on the activities of the party ahead of the 2024 crucial elections.
Mad. Beatrice Owusu, therefore, has the responsibility, per her appointment, to draw programmes and activities to enable them to contribute their quota to the party's campaign.
Announcing her appointment, the National Women's Organizer, Mad. Kate Gyamfuaa noted that former women's organizers would have a significant duty to play in terms of mobilising the women's front to help break the 8-year electoral cycle.
It is for this reason, according to her, that her office thought it expedient to appoint Mad. Beatrice Owusu, who is well-versed and experienced in women's mobilisation, led the crusade.
Mad. Kate Gyamfuaa expressed the hope that Aunty B will execute her role effectively in order to help the political fortunes of the NPP.
