The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has touted that the NPP is one of the most successful political parties in the world.
He claims that the NPP enjoys widespread recognition in the global political system.
Speaking in an interview on Hello FM Nana B said, "Certainly, there are challenges within the party. Our party is a big party. It is the biggest political party in Ghana and in fact, it is one of the most respected in the world. I have attended several international conferences and if you look at how respect is given to the New Patriotic Party, it's on a high level."
There have been a few unexpected elements in the NPP. The most recent was the former trade minister Alan Kyeremanten, who announced his ambition to run for the NPP flagbearership.
When Alan recognised that things would not go in his favour within the party, he quickly changed his views and became an independent candidate.
This came as a surprise to many including party members. His resignation did not go well with party executives as well as members. Many also criticised him for his decision.
In response to the host's question on whether he, as National Organiser, was prepared for the obstacles the NPP would have to face in light of recent events within the party, Nana B said that the NPP was prepared to do so.
"To be honest, it's a huge task ahead. Because the current happenings [in the party] have never occurred. Another thing is that the ambition to break the 8 has never happened. Godwilling, on January 1, 2015, the party is likely to hand over. That is the reason why as a party, we want to prepare well for the task. We want to go beyond 8 years."

When the butterfly thinks of himself a bird. We all used to "die" for NPP because we mistakenly thought they were intelligent and patriotic people who work in Ghana's interest. But now we know your true colours, you're just as terrible as the APC in Nigeria. Noble people don't survive in NPP anymore. If you see anyone still happy with NPP, it's either of two things, a shallow minded ***barred word*** or a severely corrupt and rotten individual. Those who are not in these brackets are leaving or talking.
Sad to be young. This boy talks big and it's because he is a boy. When some of us were pursued by the military and others because of our position , you were not born. What pride has NPP now? People being paid billions to vote for simple presidential candidates, others dashed with cars and party chairmen destroying Ghana's forests with galamsey. The party leadership who should stay neutral promoting a specific candidate to the disadvantage of other contestants. Nana B go back to history and learn of the real nobles of our country who acted out of patriotism and not taking money to act. Shama shame shame!
Unfortunately, NPP has attained the accolade as the most corrupt party in the world if you care to know. Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has alleged that NPP is ***barred word*** the sate and stashing the money abroad like there’s no tomorrow. How do you reconcile that statement with your assertion, Nana B?
Yes, that is very true. Unfortunately the actions and inactions of the current leadership both in government and at the level of the party is making the NPP to lose that respect. In the days of the Adu Boahens, Agyenim Boateng's, B J. Da Rocha's, Peter Ala Adjetey's, Odoi Sykes, Haruna Esseku's, B. K. Adama's, Jatoe Kaleo's, S. B. Dombo's, Abaefaa Karbo's, Safo Adu's, J. A . Addison's, Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Salifu COP's, Alhaji Abdulai Issahaku's, Hawa Yakubu's, Christine Churchers, Gladys Asmah's, Theresa Amaley Tagoe's, they could bring a prime minister (Busia) or president ( J. A. Kufuor) to order when they saw them taking the wrong path which will not inure to the growth and development of the party. Today who is that person in the NPP who can look at 'power' in the face, eye ball to eye ball and say hey, stop what you are doing, WHO?
